How it all began...

From a very young age, I knew I had a passion for photography, constantly having my eye open for any photo opportunity, even if it was the smallest moment, like my friend looking out the window of a car or my grandfather just smiling at the dinner table. I dreamed of making it my career but felt that it was impractical and I needed a "normal job." I went to college, graduated with my degree in Education, and taught 6th grade Science for two years before I finally realized that I was not meant to have a "normal job." I quit teaching to pursue my passion for creating, building, and chasing what the world told me not to. It took a few years, but I finally took the leap, and here I am - ready to document the most special moments for anyone who will give me the chance.

The meaning behind "MoonSparrow"

I chose the name "MoonSparrow" for two reasons: my daughter's love for the moon and the Biblical symbolism of God's love for His children.

The moon has become a very big part of my family's lives. When my oldest daughter was around 18 months old, it became part of our night time routine to go outside and say "goodnight" to the moon. Every time she sees "Luna," she points her out and says hello. I will never see the moon the same again, and it has become so precious to me!

Matthew 10:29-31 reminds us that if God cares for the smallest sparrow, He is deeply aware of and cares for us as well. It is a sweet reminder that we are seen, loved, and cared for every second of our lives.

I also see this name as a metaphor for what I want to document: the biggest moments to the smallest.

Let’s preserve these moments, just as they are
